Our own next page!

Our first blog post on our new website. It’s an exciting time for Julie and I as we begin our journey to become children’s booksellers. We’re yet to have an actual ‘proper’ business meeting, due to Covid, but have made the most of the beautiful countryside which surrounds our little town for walking meetings. We’ve talked through ideas, made decisions and changed our plans whilst splashing through puddles, getting stuck in the mud and looking at stunning views (and chasing the dog!) It’s not how I envisaged setting up a small business would be, but it’s working for us.

My background is in education – I’ve been a primary school teacher for 17 years and most recently, SENDCo and Assistant Head. My passion is for inclusion and I’ve a developing interest in supporting and celebrating neurodiversity in children, which we hope to do through curating specialised books in the shop. However more than that, we will offer a range of support from 1:1 interventions to process trauma, to groups that support and coach parents to advocate and support their children’s needs. This will be the first area to get going (as we can do this while we are looking for premises) and I’m excited to get started! Look at the neurodiversity support section of the website to find out more…
